CPC Gangbangs

Like Guitar Wolf before it, Montreal's CPC Gangbangs takes a primal punk-rock formula and distorts it far beyond its original shape. The result is a jagged, noisy, harried sound that hurtles forward, careering nearly out of control, then shudders with the waves of powerful emotions harnessed against its will. Touring in support of its latest effort, Mutilation Nation, this band is known for its maniacal live energy. Transcending influences, the group effectively reminds everyone that punk rock used to be as much about an unrestrained exercise of imagination as it was about release. Too weird to strictly be a garage-punk band and far too steeped in the aesthetics of raw rock and roll to fit nicely with any modern psychedelic movement, CPC Gangbangs channels its inner Iggy like few ever have.

KEEP WESTWORD FREE... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
