"These things always happen in a unique way," says Don Strasburg, the co-president of AEG Rocky Mountains who recently spoke to us about the entertainment group's new pop-up venue, Project 70.
"My AEG team, we all sat down, looked at the site and realized what an incredible place — the middle of downtown Denver, where people go to celebrate, where people go to protest, right with the backdrop of the City and County building and the Capitol."
He jokes "it's not always brain surgery" to know a good venue when you see it. Plus, AEG has already thrown successful shows in that area, from Dom Dolla to Zeds Dead's annual Backyard Jamboree over the Fourth of July.

The Greek Amphitheatre is about to be home to some raves.

"Artists are always looking for a different, creative venue," he adds. "They're artists — they thrive on creativity. The opportunity to do a creative site often resonates, and we're always in discussion with so many different artists and the ones that find an idea like this interesting we will work together with."
He says Jamie XX, known for his production work as well as his role in the indie band the xx, "is absolutely phenomenal."
"The opportunity to see Jamie XX, one of the most creative contemporary artists out there today, at the Greek Theatre? That's going to be sick," he concludes.
