Virgil Dickerson’s Suburban Home Records is the latest in a line of indie labels giving away music, in hopes of generating interest in tours, merchandise and other artists on the label. This time, it’s not simply a teaser EP, designed to grab your email address to promote the full-length when it’s finally ready. Mike Hale — late of In the Red and Gunmoll, and a recent addition to the Suburban Home roster — is offering his album, Lives Like Mine, as a free download via Suburban Home. Of course, you can also buy the record for a mere five bucks, give a one-dollar donation – or even pick up the $30 deluxe package, which includes both vinyl and CD, a t-shirt, a coffee mug, a poster and a bunch of other cool schwag.
