Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

If you're looking for something to listen to as you slog your way through yet another day of soul-crushing cubicle slavery -- or even more soul-crushing unemployment -- the Denver Art Rock Collective has got a treat for you. The group has released a nice collection of live sets from its member bands, which include Amphibious Jones, Action Friend, the Inactivists, New Ancient Astronauts, Little Fyodor and Babushka, Yerkish and lots of other fine acts. But wait, there's more! In addition to the official DARC bands, they've also included sets from some non-aligned yet friendly acts they've played with, such as Mint Novacaine, Quick Victim and Pep*Squad. All told, there are more than sixty sets available for download, from as recently as December 11 of this year, stretching back to September, 2008. What would you expect to pay for a collection of this magnitude? Sixty dollars? A hundred dollars? More!?! Ah, who are we kidding? It's the Internet, so you expect to download them free, which is exactly what you can do. Just visit the Secret DARC Bootleg page and get busy listening.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
