Gabriel and Dresden

(aka Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden) first worked together in 2001 remixing “Someone Like You,” by New Order. Impressed with the fledgling producer’s work, Dresden tapped Gabriel to help him rework the track. The San Francisco production duo has maintained a working relationship ever since and has blossomed into one of house’s most respected acts. Gabriel and Dresden — due at the Church this Thursday, April 6 — have garnered fans the world over and earned the respect of some of the biggest names in music with a sound that blends smooth yet powerful house and techno beats with velvety vocals and captivating melodies. In addition to reinterpreting tracks by Annie Lennox and Britney Spears, the pair recently applied their signature stamp to “The Wings,” the theme to Brokeback Mountain. Gabriel and Dresden have also been massively successful with their own tunes: “As the Rush Comes” recently topped U.S. dance charts as well as U.K. pop charts.
