DJ Ginger Perry kicks off Kitty Kat Social tonight at Beauty Bar (608 East 13th Avenue), which just celebrated its grand opening last weekend. Perry will head up the weekly ladies nights on Thursdays and bring in a rotating crew of DJs including Vajra, Mike Deez, Jah Rocker, Klaw and A-Ray, all of whom she asked to think of their favorite female artists that are like upbeat and dance-y.
Perry says they’ll be spinning super fun ladies jams, anywhere from ladies vocals and ladies ’80s. And keeping with the night’s name, she says she wants gals to really have environment where it will make them more social instead of being super catty and not wanting to talk to each other. While the nights are lady-centric, Perry says guys are welcome too. “I want the kitties to kick it, but the dogs are welcome,” she says.
