Glass Delirium (due at Moe’s Original BBQ on Thursday, June 14) has been through some changes over the past few years, taking on both a new lead vocalist and a new drummer. Even so, the group has not forsaken its approach to melodic, progressive hard rock. Immediate and apt comparisons have been made between Glass Delirium and similarly minded outfits such as Nightwish, Lacuna Coil and, probably most often, Evanescence. Ditching the two-vocalist approach helped make the band’s material more genuinely dynamic, as did aiming for something more classical than bluntly visceral. No longer teetering on the screamo ledge, this is a leaner, more effective version of the group than previous incarnations. For this show, Glass Delirium will perform the upcoming Diamond Lullabies in its entirety with a proper album release coming later in the year.
