Goose is one of the leading purveyors of the next generation of jam bands, and its flock of fans is about to freak out over the latest news: Goose will be returning to Red Rocks Amphitheatre this summer for a two-night run.
When we caught up with the band’s then-new drummer, Cotter Ellis, ahead of Goose’s shows at Fiddler’s in 2024, he admitted he was bummed that he missed out on playing Red Rocks, where it had sold-out shows in the past. Now, his dream of playing the storied venue will come true.

Goose Red Rocks Dates
Goose will be at Red Rocks on Thursday, August 27, and Friday, August 28. The dates will mark the penultimate shows of the band’s tour, which kicks off on March 28 in Athens, Georgia, and will end on August 29 at a to-be-determined venue in Salt Lake City, Utah. The tour comes on the heels of Goose’s latest release, chain yer dragon, which is available now on all streaming platforms.

About Goose
Rick Mitarotonda (vocals, guitar), Peter Anspach (vocals, keys, guitar), Trevor Weekz (bass) and Cotter Ellis (vocals, drums) make up Goose, which started to blow up during the pandemic with live-streamed shows. The band toured relentlessly as the world opened back up, and has had sold-out shows at such venues as Madison Square Garden, where it made its headlining debut last year. Known for its improvisational live compositions and extensive jams, Goose has been riddled with praise from mainstream media, as well, from features in the New York Times to performing on such shows as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and CBS Saturday Morning.
Last year, Anspach raved about the Colorado scene in an interview with Westword. “It’s not lost on us that Colorado is just an amazing place and loves this type of music and has always loved us and been so supportive of us throughout the years, back to like 2019, and earlier,” he said. “So we’re just so grateful for that. We always try and bring our best show.”
