Hit Pick

Craving a little Rock Soup? The title of the debut CD by Concrete Sandwich is partly a description of the hodgepodge of musical influences working upon the Denver trio. It's also a recommendation for an appropriate side dish. A hard-rock-and-loud-guitar outfit that's been plugging away in the local music circuit for a couple of years, the band promises "two tablespoons of attitude" in every bite. The long-awaited disc, distributed by Hapi Skratch records, sees official release on Saturday, July 13, at the Iliff Park Saloon. The Sandwich boys will be joined there by Groove Fury (whose guitarist is finally being released after an unfortunate incarceration), Cryptobiotic and Jet Black Joy. Bon appetit.
