Do you remember last year when Atmosphere and Common brought the heat to Red Rocks in the dead of winter for Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks? We do. We also remember the dusting of snow, the visible breath of awe struck onlookers and the rambunctious nature of the entire night. This year, we want to make sure you are prepared with all the right gear and know exactly what to expect, so we've compiled a survival guide with everything you need to know to keep from freezing your toes off between sets. Read through to find out what you can and can't bring, as well as preview the acts you'll see rocking between the rocks.

Judging by the forecast, it looks to be a clear day leading into the night, with some clouds rolling in around sundown. With temperatures in the 50s and probably dipping into the 30s or mid 20s, you'll want to make certain you bundle up in layers, which you can always shed as the night progresses if you get hot.
You can also snag these little hand heaters at any of your local ski/snowboard shops. And trust us, they work. For merely a few bucks, your hands and toes can stay nicely heated during set breaks, openers and into the night as the lineup of talent will make it impossible to catch a chill during performances.
If you're a native, a seasoned vet or you've at least lived here for a while, you don't need this next bit of information because you obviously already know where Red Rocks is. If you just landed, however, or have never been, here's how you get to the Rocks.
From RedRocksOnline: Red Rocks Amphitheatre is located in Red Rocks Park near Morrison, Colorado, 15 miles west of Denver. Coming from Downtown, take I-70 west to exit 259, turn left at the bottom of the Morrison exit ramp, cruise on downhill 1.5 miles to the Red Rocks Park entrance. Coming from south Denver, take C-470 to the Morrison exit, turn west and follow the signs to the Park entrances. Here's a tip to avoid some traffic: You can also exit C-470 at Highway 285. Take it west to Highway 8 and then come north to the Amphitheatre!

Again, if you're an experienced veteran, you probably already know that parking at Red Rocks is really simple. You want to arrive a little bit early and park as close to the entrance as you can, so you can get in and out quickly and without any problems. To avoid the pre- and post-show congestion of traffic flowing in from I-70, you may want to consider using one of the alternate entrances off of Highway 74 rather than the main entrances off 93.
Parking for Red Rocks is free, well maintained and organized. Arriving early -- for this show, that means roughly around 6 p.m. or so, before the doors open -- will almost guarantee you prime parking. Take into account the weather, though. If it snows, you'll obviously want to take your time and be as safe as possible en route.
The lots at Red Rocks are famous for always being a party scene, so if you feel inclined, open up the back hatch to your car, put on "Thrift Shop" and wait for fellow fans to come by and nod their head with you. Heads-up: Because of security issues, you are prohibited from leaving the venue to go back to your car to drop anything off or pick anything up. So when you do make the final trek from the lot to the steps, be sure you have everything you need.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis appeared at Red Rocks once before as direct support for Big Gigantic's sold out "Rowdytown" concert, closing out the 2012 concert season. And now, hot on the heels of its sold out show at the Ogden in December, the industrious indie sensation from Seattle returns to Colorado to headline this second annual edition of Icelantic's Winter on the Rocks.
Major Lazer, who also graced the Red Rocks stage in 2011 at Global Dance Festival, will surely warm things up nicely with fresh reggaeton beats to instigate the most feverish booty dancing. Count on Diplo and his crew to provide the illest of dancehall tunes suitable for a sweaty Jamaican night club but also totally appropriate for the precipitating bodies that will fill the steps of Colorado's most prized venue.
Grouch and Eligh, who also witnessed the mayhem that is Red Rocks' rabid crowd by opening for Pretty Lights last year, will spit original rhymes and undoubtedly pitch nods to their crew, the Living Legends.
