A hot new bombshell is about to enter the Mile High City.

Nicolas Vansteenberghe, a breakout star from the seventh season of Love Island USA, is scheduled to DJ at Temple Nightclub on Friday, February 6.

The 24-year-old TV personality, better known as Nic Vans, will perform an EDM set at the Denver club. After leaving the Love Island villa in July, Vans began pursuing a career as a self-proclaimed “wannabe DJ,” performing his first festival set at Escape Halloween in October.

The Denver event is expected to sell out in advance, says Asfan Khan, talent coordinator for Temple. Since announcing the show on December 11, the venue has already run out of first-tier general admission tickets, though second-tier tickets and tables are still available for purchase.

Will you step up to support Westword this year?

At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $21,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.

Vans was a fan favorite on the popular reality dating show, starting the season as one of the ten original islanders. He was one of only three OG islanders who managed to survive the many dumpings and recouplings all the way through to the season finale. Vans ultimately finished in second place, alongside his girlfriend, Olandria Carthen.

Vans was introduced to Love Island viewers as a model and registered nurse from Florida. However, after gaining an overnight fan base from the show, he seized the opportunity to launch a career in music.

“EDM is my passion,” Vans said in a December 12 podcast interview. “Going from being in the pit to being a backstage baddie is so cool. I’m shaking it on stage now.”

Vans adds to a crowded field of reality TV stars turned DJs, including the likes of Meredith Marks from The Real Housewives (who is performing at Denver’s X Bar in January) and Pauly D from Jersey Shore (who is also appearing at Temple in February).

“It’s kind of stereotypical,” Vans admitted during the podcast. “I’m trying to grip it by the horns. I want to make my own shit, I don’t want to be the push ‘play’ guy. I want to be seen as Nic the DJ, not Nic from Love Island.”

Vans will be working to prove himself as a DJ during his Denver set. In the December 12 interview, he said he had only performed three shows so far.

But the real question is: will Olandria be there? Khan says he doesn’t know, as Temple “only booked Nic.” Guess you’ll have to go to the show to see for yourself.

Nic Vans will DJ on Friday, February 6, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Temple Nightclub, 1136 Broadway; tickets are available starting at $23.
