Last year, b-boy Fienz, his Lordz of Finesse crew and Paul Skeee came together to throw the first Mighty 4 Colorado event at Beta nightclub, which drew more than 500 attendees. The event featured b-boy battles, performances from Infinite Mindz and BreakEFX, as well as fresh music coming from DJs Chonz, Phoreyez and Vajra. The great thing about the event, however, was not only did Colorado represent but hip-hop heads from New Mexico, Arizona and Wyoming also showed up and showed out. This year, the event is going down once again at Beta nightclub on Saturday, May 16, and the event is expected to attract double the attendance of last year. Those interested in sponsorship, should contact Delfino Rodriguez for more information. In the meantime, check out footage from last year's event after the jump.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
