First show in fifteen years, eh? Pshaw! Could've fooled us. Last night, the Fluid played a (not so) secret show at the Larimer Lounge and sounded every bit as tight and vital as it did the last time we saw the band back in '91 (or was it '92?). There was a touch more grey -- okay, a lot of grey -- this time around, but otherwise, John Robinson and company genuinely haven't missed a step. In advance of the Fluid's official reunion show this Friday, we'll be posting a truckload of exclusive content, from photos to interviews, as well as a feature length profile. In the meantime, after the jump, we've posted some pics that Jon Solomon and Aaron Thackeray shot and embedded a few videos from the show. -- Dave Herrera

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
