$20,000

Playalitical has churned out an album that is bearable, in spite of a lack of substance, lukewarm lyrics and uninspiring production. The lyrics are crass — on “Player of the Year,” he boasts of selling pussy for a million dollars and fucking virgins — and the MC seems to only refer to women as bitches (see “Hood-Rat Bitches”), but there are a few moments here that work. Specifically, on tracks like “Built to Win,” which features Jon B., Playalitical employs a pleasant rhythm that carries the depth in his voice to perfection. The MC is at his best on the Lea-assisted “The Way That You Love Me,” a piano-heavy, 808-driven joint with a great hook. Moonwalking is solid at times, though the misogynistic overtones can be a turn-off.
