While not quite deserving of a tickertape parade, this year does have the distinction of marking the twentieth anniversary of two of glam rock’s most memorable albums: Poison’s Look What the Cat Dragged In and Cinderella’s Night Songs, both of which defined an era of music that was all about booze, sex and excess. Instead of giving each other china to celebrate, the bands have pulled their spandex from the mothballs and are spending the summer on the road together. Of the two, Poison has maintained a higher profile, releasing new music and appearing on reality TV: Guitarist C.C. Deville was a cast member on the most recent installment of The Surreal Life, while singer Bret Michaels judged a season of Nashville Star. Cinderella, on the other hand, has been a face on a milk carton since the glam scene went down like the Hindenburg in the early ’90s. Neither act is particularly prodigious, but their shows are still dependably packed with die-hard fans that time forgot.
