Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
On Tuesday, we let you know that Colorado's DJ Sabotage and Hypeman P were headed to Los Angeles to represent the Box State at Scion's 2008 Hypeman Contest as a finalist. So what happened? Sabo and P represented the Mile High City lovely taking first and second place, respectively. Sabotage takes home $2,000 and a home-studio prize package provided by M-Audio that includes a Fast Track Ultra - High-speed USB 2.0 Interface, ProTools M-Powered software, Q40 Studio Reference Headphones, Nova Studio Microphone, and Studio backpack. He's also booked to host three upcoming national parties presented by Scion. And if you want to congratulate Sabotage in person, check him out tonight at Club Theorie for Allen Iverson's farewell party. View the flyer after the jump. -- Quibian Salazar-Moreno
Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
