As Spotify users received their 2024 Wrapped playlists, Red Rocks Amphitheatre decided to make its own spin off the trend. In an Instagram post stylized in a similar format to Spotify’s “stories” it sends users, the venue offered a look into its accomplishments in 2024.
Red Rocks shared that it hosted 233 events this year, 198 of which were concerts, and sold a whopping 1.69 million tickets. Outside of events, more than a million sightseers made their way up to Red Rocks to experience the natural beauty and stunning views.
June was dubbed the “Bow In the Presence of Greatness” season, with special homage to James Taylor, who has performed at Red Rocks for six decades now and whose legacy is officially recognized in the Red Rocks Hall of Fame.
Summer of 2024, which Red Rocks called its “The More the Merrier Top Talent Orchestral” era, was a busy season showcasing a variety of genres, including classical music from the Colorado Symphony on nine different occasions.
The venue touted its nine Red Rocks Trail Mix Sessions that were released this year, featuring artists from Third Eye Blind to Greensky Bluegrass.
It comes as no surprise that the most-sold food at Red Rocks Amphitheatre was pizza. More than 111,000 pieces were sold for a warm cheesy snack on the rocks.
Perhaps the strangest Red Rocks moment of 2024 was a potential UFO sighting, which made July of 2024 the venue’s “Intergalactic Top Secret We Come In Peace” phase.
Who knows what’s in store next year on the extraterrestrial front, but the Red Rocks 2025 schedule is already looking like a party.
