The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $25,000 by August 9.
While legendary Chicago-based punk band Screeching Weasel has broken up and re-formed a number of times since being founded in 1986, frontman Ben “Weasel” Foster, the only constant member, is hitting the road with a new line-up as part of the band’s Heard You Were Dead tour, which stops at the Gothic Theatre on July 13 with The Queers. The members of the previous line-up resigned after last year’s SXSW show where Weasel got in altercation with some of the crowd during Screeching Weasel’s set.Tickets ($23/$27) go on sale on Saturday, April 7 at 10 a.m. The Gothic is also bringing in rapper Bow Wow and Ace Hood on Monday, June 11. Tickets ($30-$35) for that show go on sale this Friday, April 6 at 10 a.m.
