Sounds Like Fun!

Looking for something fun, free and freezing to do on New Year's Eve? Join the City's Denver Millennium Celebration, an evening of outdoor events along the 16th Street Mall. Beginning at 8 p.m., two concert stages at Glenarm Place (Denver Pavilions) and 17th Street and Arapahoe will host performances from the Hazel Miller Band, Lannie Garrett, Conjunto Colores and Nina Storey. Also there to entertain will be street performers roaming the length of the mall. At 11:58 p.m., on the dot, fireworks by Frenchman Pierre-Alain Hubert will light up the sky, centered over the D&F Tower. Mon dieu! Also sponsored by the city is free admission to most area museums and attractions.
KEEP WESTWORD FREE... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
