While Vampire Weekend's Contra captured the top spot at a lot of local record stores the previous week, Spoon's seventh album, Transference, released last week on the Merge imprint, topped the charts for the week ending January 24. The album grabbed top spots at Albums on the Hill, Independent Records, Twist & Shout and came in third at Wax Trax.
