In a celebration of fifteen years of music, Stones Throw Records is bringing its crew to Denver for what will most definitely be a party. Stones Throw, founded by Peanut Butter Wolf in 1996, is the quintessential underground label, with a roster filled with promising and diverse talent. Known for putting out albums by the likes of Madlib, J Rocc and Strong Arm Steady, the imprint also released JDilla’s final album. The shindig this weekend at City Hall features the Wolf himself, along with a cast of talented cats including Mayer Hawthorne, J Rocc, Strong Arm Steady (playing material from In Search of Stoney Jackson) and Steve Arrington of Slave. Come help celebrate fifteen years of dopeness.
