Here’s Where to See Taylor Swift’s “Release Party of a Showgirl”

The global superstar announced her return to the silver screen on September 19.

Colorado Swifties: Once again, it’s time to rejoice, grab your friends and head to the movie theatres.

When Taylor Swift announced in late 2023 she was taking her highly-successful Eras Tour to screens across the country, fans flooded seats quickly. Now, Swift has announced another film, Release Party of a Showgirl, which will run in select theaters from October 3-5; her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, drops on October 3.

“Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan…,” Swift said in an Instagram announcement post on September 19. “Dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”

Swift isn’t here to make a sci-fi, horror or comedy film for her fans. Instead, Release Party of a Showgirl provides an exclusive inside look at the curated world of a showgirl, specifically the one Swift made for this album. 

During the event, the world premiere of “The Fate of Ophelia” music video will also be shown to viewers. The approximately 89-minute film will include behind-the-scenes footage, Swift’s personal reflections on the tracks and a brand-new lyric videos.

After the internet-breaking announcement, sites such as AMC, Regal Theaters and Cinemark didn’t have time to brace for extreme impact. Wait times and unexpected crashes made the process a lot more difficult to snag the $12 tickets at 12:12 p.m., a nod to the artist’s twelfth album.

For those unavailable from Friday, October 3, through Sunday, October 5, no need to fret or worry that you will miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Swift released her Eras Tour film on Disney+ shortly after its movie theatre debut, so keep your eyes peeled.
