All right, dig it: It’s a Saturday night. I’m at Club Boca (1521 Marion Street) for Disintegration, the club’s weekly goth night. As I walk in, I spy a couple entangled at the bar, laying the groundwork for what will inevitably end in coitus later on. He’s got his arms around her, hands on her ass. Then, out of nowhere, out comes dude’s tongue, which may or may not be pierced — not completely sure, because it’s pretty dark. What I can tell you, though, is that my man is giving sister woman one hell of a tongue bath. Sliding up her chin in slow motion, he licks her face like Mr. Owl trying to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. She responds in kind, and next thing you know, they’re all up on each other like snakes on a muthafuckin’ plane. I’m thinking to myself, Jesus, is this what they do at goth nights these days?

Then I look around and notice that everyone is getting all Freaky McFreakerson and shit. And why not? Boca is gothtopia, a welcoming inner sanctum for those who gravitate toward the dark side, a place where they can, well, get freaky. It’s dark (naturally), with lots of couches, lots of rooms, a smoking patio, and the music is just right. DJ Slave One plays some of the finest damn old-school goth, new wave and industrial music around.

Down for a spooky St. Paddy’s day? Stop by Disintigration this Saturday, March 17, and check out DJ Meridian, who will be guesting for the Hills Have Eyes 2 party, or next Saturday, March 24, when the club throws a similar shindig for Grindhouse with DJ IX on the tables.

On a related note, this Sunday, March 18, Spa Audio Therapy (1800 Glenarm) is hosting a fetish event called Kink, where you’ll find Midori, a woman who knows a scary amount about Japanese bondage — so much so she wrote a book about it — and Mistress Saskia, the Headmistress of Pavlovia, who’s made an honest living out of being a control freak for the past decade. Sounds kind of, uh, kinky.
