As host of ¡Chale Vato!, Laru Loud -- better known to some as Raul San Miguel, the nightlife photographer who's shot your band, your fashion show and probably your epic party -- brings the bass to the Squire Lounge tonight. This once-a-month gathering is a must for dubstep fans and house-heads alike, with Laru Loud and regular partners-in-crime Matt Farry and Thin Air bringing grimy beats to your Monday.

If you like what you hear, take note: This free party is usually on the first Monday of the month, but the crew decided to push it back a week in November to allow for Halloween-weekend recovery. Beauty Bar's Sex Panther party regular JGrilla will guest-DJ tonight, and in December, ¡Chale Vato! will be throwing an all-vinyl night with additional, yet-to-be-named guest DJs. The night is 21-plus, there's no cover, and things pop off around 10 p.m.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
