Earlier on in his career, Curren$y (performing this evening at the Fox Theatre with Trademark, Young Roddy, Fiend and Corner Boy P) ran with the likes of Master P and Lil Wayne, via the rappers’ infamous entourage/record labels, No Limit and Young Money. Now releasing albums on his own through the Warner Brothers-backed Jet Life Recordings, the New Orleans-based artist continues on his decade-plus long career path as a Southern rapper with a Cali swing.

On top of touring, Curren$y has been working hard on several new mixtapes and full-fledged albums — like his most recent release, Covert Coup, a collaboration with producer The Alchemist — all of which are on the 2011 horizon. This show is all ages, and tickets $18 ($20 under 21). Doors open at 8:30 p.m., and the acts start at 9 p.m.
