Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
For this week's installment of the Hot Congress residency at Meadowlark, the group is bringing out the big guns, with Hindershot being joined by Vitamins, Kissing Party, and Luke Hunter James-Erickson.
For the entire month of November, the collective and record label has handpicked each weekly bill, pulling from their own ranks, along with other local acts in the music community.
Hot Congress came together a handful of years ago as a way for some Denver friends in various bands (Achille Lauro and Action Packed Thrill Ride among them) to support each other in a larger way -- by playing shows together, cross-promoting events, and releasing records.
Not sure if Hot Congress is your bag? Every Thursday during the month of November, you can catch a different line-up of Hot Congress-approved bands for just $7. This show is 21 and up, show starts at 9 p.m.
Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
