And this will be a special show: The legendary rap group has just announced its final tour, Wu-Tang Clan Forever: The Final Chamber, which will kick off in Baltimore on June 6 and wrap up in Philadelphia on July 18. Run the Jewels will join the group on this last hurrah, which will come to Fiddler's Green on the Fourth of July.
"Wu-Tang Clan has shown the world many chambers throughout our career; this tour is called The Final Chamber," says bandleader RZA. "This is a special moment for me and all my Wu brothers to run around the globe together one more time and spread the Wu swag, music, and culture. Most importantly to touch our fans and those who have supported us throughout the years. On this tour we're playing songs we've never played before to our audience and me and our production team have designed a Wu-Tang show unlike anything you've ever seen. And to top it off we've got the amazing Run the Jewels on our side.”
Wu-Tang Clan has continued honoring the kung-fu films that informed its numerous albums, as well as its name (via Shaolin and Wu-Tang). A video announcing the tour references a scene from The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, which loyal fans will recognize as a major inspiration. The scene shows the kung-fu student San Te saying that he wants to build beyond the 35 chambers of the Shaolin school, creating a "final chamber."
