The annual Aspen X Games showcase some of the biggest athletes in winter sports every year. But the event that takes over Buttermilk Mountain is also becoming known for its offerings outside the world-class competitions. Scheduled for Thursday, January 23, through Saturday, January 25, the X Games' 2025 music lineup highlights some of the biggest and hottest acts in EDM, including the return of deadmau5, making for three days of wild on-mountain entertainment.

“The music talent for X Games Aspen 2025 includes some of the best in the business when it comes to bringing a party to life,” says Rich Bigge, vice president of live events for the X Games. “Between the competitions and the music lineup, this winter’s X Games is one fans won’t want to miss.”

All of the shows will take place at X Park, which is found at the base of the mountain on the Government Trail and accessed by the Summit Express Lift; admission is included in the price of a regular X Games ticket.

But each of the artists is also playing Belly Up Aspen during what the venue has dubbed X Games Music Week, starting with Daily Bread on Wednesday, January 22. Belly Up tickets are sold separately and are available through the venue’s website. Heads up: There is already a waiting list for the Daily Bread concert, as well as the Big Gigantic show on Saturday, January 25, so act fast!

Keep reading to see all of the artists performing during the X Games.

X Games Concert Lineup

Thursday, January 23

Daily Bread
9:15-9:45 p.m.
Atlanta-based beatmaker Daily Bread is tapped to kick off the musical slate with his next-level style of old-school, funk-infused EDM offerings. As a hip-hop producer, Rhett Whatley, the man behind Daily Bread, knows how to keep it fresh with more modern hooks, but it’s those nostalgic melodies mixed with heavy bass that make him one of the most popular artists out there right now, as showcased on his latest album, Invisible Cinema (2023).

For a primer on his brand of electro-soul, check out “Snickerz,” “Moon Slips Away” and “Blindfold Yourself.” It helps that Whatley is also a jazz guitarist and obsessive record collector who’s amassed a mine of wax to pull from since introducing himself to the EDM world as Daily Bread in 2014. So finish that first night of shredding with a healthy dose of Daily Bread.

TESSLA
3:15-3:45 p.m.
The tunes start a little earlier on Friday, as DJ duo TESSLA will start spinning on Buttermilk Mountain just in time for a little après ski break and disco dance party. Tess Polachek and Lauren Ashley, aka Tess and LA, currently split their time between Los Angeles and Aspen, so the hometown set is a chance for the crowd to take in some local flavor, too.

Given their dance and performance background, Polachek and Ashley are known for incorporating that energy into TESSLA sets, which are always up-tempo and include live vocals. Recent singles “Be Your Baby,” featuring Sacha Robotti, and “Dream of Me” are making waves in the house and electronic pop scene, marking TESSLA’s steady rise as an up-and-coming act.

Plus, you might run into the duo taking some laps throughout the weekend, as both musicians profess to fully sending it skiing or snowboarding whenever they’re not on stage.

ILLENIUM
10:15-10:45 p.m.
Grammy-nominated DJ and music producer ILLENIUM provides the sonic nightcap Friday. In the past decade, ILLENIUM, aka Nick Miller, has been one of the hottest and most popular acts in drum-and-bass music, amassing billions of streams online for such albums as “Ascend” (2019) and “Fallen Embers” (2021), which earned a Grammy nod for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album in 2022.

Miller most recently shared a 2023 self-titled record, featuring the single “All That Really Matters” with Teddy Swims. The song quickly became one of his hottest releases, garnering more than 123 million streams to date.

“It's my self-titled album," he says, "so I want it to sound exactly like what is in my head: what I enjoy, what gives me escape, what makes me feel the most.”

Known for interweaving lyrical alt-rock and acoustic interludes, ILLENIUM embraces much more than drum-and-bass. His penchant for collaborating with like-minded artists (check out “Feel Something,” with I Prevail) puts ILLENIUM in a class of his own.

Saturday, January 25

Big Gigantic
4:15-4:45 p.m.
On Saturday, Big Gigantic hits the slopes first. And it’s safe to say the Boulder-based duo of saxophonist and producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken know exactly what you’ll need to get you to the finish line. Veterans of the EDM genre, they are bona fide masters of letting the good times roll. Their concerts are always an event, displaying Lalli’s sax skills and Salken’s silky drumming.

Armed with a bevy of material, including recent singles “Always Wanna Talk” and “Disco Fever,” with Denver duo Smoakland, Big Gigantic will have the halfpipe area hopping. Brighter Future 2 is the crew’s latest album, but for us, Winter Chill Mix: Vol X and Winter Chill Mixes: Volumes I-IX are the most fitting for a weekend at the X Games.

Deadmau5
9:30-10 p.m.
The de facto headliner of X Games Music Week really needs no introduction. The DJ known as deadmua5 is one of the biggest EDM acts in the world, with a lengthy résumé chronicling his many successes, including Juno awards, Grammy nominations and platinum-certified singles. Joel Zimmerman, the man behind the mask, has seemingly done it all over the last three decades and isn’t showing signs of slowing down anytime soon. In 2024, deadmau5 released the EPs some and Jaded, to much anticipation.

The self-titled album for Zimmerman's recent progressive house project, Kx5, alongside collaborator Kaskade, also blew up, particularly behind the single “Escape,” featuring Hayla. Basically, whatever deadmua5 touches turns to gold. He hasn't played the X Games since 2016, so it’s a fitting finale for an event known for going big.

X Games general admission tickets start at $58.
