Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
Once again, allow Westword to clarify: Jeff Peckman and Stan Romanek have not released the full video of their peeping tom alien. Peckman merely showed it to the media at a Denver press conference in late May, but would only allow still photos.
So if you've seen a two minute clip of a little alien head doing a creepy pop-goes-the-weasel act, blinking twice and scurrying away, then you have seen the FAKE version created by some YouTube prankster. You can tell the difference because, ironically, the fake one actually looks a lot more believable than the one Peckman and Romanek hold up as proof of alien life. So the fake video, of course, has spread across the internet like body odor and Cheetos dust at a sci-fi convention.
And when any video goes big on YouTube, it breeds imitators. Below is the original fake "Denver Alien Video." And after the jump are some of our favorite parodies. -- Jared Jacang Maher
