The latest legal chapter in the up-and-down life of Brian Bonsall, former child star and Family Ties cast member, has been closed.

As the Boulder Daily Camera reports, Bonsall pleaded guilty to felony menacing and third-degree assault. In exchange, he's been sentenced to forty hours of community service, five days in work release and two years' probation. He may also participate in Boulder County's integrated treatment court as a way to deal with his substance abuse issues.

If these efforts work as everyone hopes, Bonsall won't get a chance to add to the sterling photos above, which gained him entry into our Busted Former Child Star Mug Shot Hall of Fame. We suspect it's a sacrifice he'd be willing to make. Check out photos of Shia Labeouf, Lindsay Lohan and other honorees below:

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
