I saw this giant chicken cutout while driving toward downtown on Larimer Street this morning. The one at about 25th and Larimer really befuddled me, seeing as how that's an area real estate developers like to euphemistically call "in transition" -- especially for guerilla marketing about California wines. This one at 15th and Larimer made much more sense.

The chicken is hawking Rex Goliath wines, and while the friendly folks over at Wines Off Wynkoop had no idea why a giant fowl had nested on our streets -- or anything about its brand, for that matter -- they could say that the chicken is an old symbol for Chianti. Hmmm. Who knew. --Amy Haimerl
