Brothers Dillan and Christian Head led a group that committed eighteen thefts at Targets last summer, primarily stealing high-end vacuum cleaners. They then sold the vacuums on Facebook Marketplace or traded them for drugs, according to the Denver District Attorney's Office.
Between July 24 and August 19 of 2024, the gang made off with over $26,000 worth of items, including 32 Dyson, Shark and Roomba vacuum cleaners, as well as some bicycles, clothes and food.
Dillan, 33, was sentenced to six years in prison on Thursday, June 12, after pleading guilty to one count of robbery. Christian, 26, was sentenced to four years in prison earlier this year after pleading guilty to theft. They were also ordered to pay over $26,000 in restitution to Target.
“Retail theft is not a victimless crime – and particularly systematic, organized theft," District Attorney John Walsh said in a statement. "It has far-reaching effects on countless Denver consumers, can force stores to raise prices and even to close. The significant sentences given to Dillan and Christian Head should send the message that people who engage in organized retail theft will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."
During the month-long crime spree, two members of the criminal "enterprise" would simply walk into a Target store, grab a few boxed vacuum cleaners, and walk out without paying, according to the arrest affidavit. They fled the crime scenes in a Chevrolet Suburban waiting in the parking lot. The victimized stores included Targets in Denver, Aurora, Arvada and Edgewater.
Christian participated in all eighteen of the thefts, though his partners varied. Dillan joined his brother during at least seven of the thefts, according to the arrest affidavit, at times instead serving as the getaway driver.
On multiple occasions, when confronted by security or employees, Dillan brandished a blue micro stun gun and attempted to tase them, the affidavit says.

Surveillance footage shows Dillan and Christian Head leaving Target stores while holding vacuums and a mini taser.
Denver Police Department
Dillan and Christian were arrested on August 21, 2024 while driving the same Chevrolet Suburban caught on surveillance footage as a getaway vehicle. The vehicle also contained "a large amount of assorted drug paraphernalia," the affidavit says.
According to inmate records, the brothers are being held in separate prisons: Dillan in the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility in Crowley County, and Christian in the Arrowhead Correctional Center in Fremont County.
Sucks for them.
