Fruita’s Dillon Earl may only be eight years old, but he’s already got a story he’ll be telling the rest of his life.

As Grand Junction’s KKCO-TV reports, Dillon was traveling on I-70 with his grandmother, Lisa DeKruger, on the way to church yesterday morning. Then, DeKruger suffered a seizure — at about seventy miles an hour.

No problem. According to Dillon, “I reached over and then I was steering the wheel and then when I got to the side of the road, I put on the brakes.” Other motorists stopped to help and called 911.

Today, DeKruger’s fine — and Dillon’s better than that.
