As anyone who's searched for an apartment in the last month knows -- and as the New York Times pointed out this morning -- Denver's craigslist outpost is little more than a DNC housing swap meet these days. Everyone within 25 miles of the Pepsi Center, it seems, is trying to unload their digs on protesters, delegates, GOP spies, and anyone else who happens to be DNC-bound.
But our favorite recent offer is from some guy named Dan, whose place near the University of Denver is going for $35,000 for the week:
Beautiful custom home. Typically just 15 to 20 minute drive to downtown. Five bedrooms (two master suites) plus pullout in the theater, gorgeous marble floors, gourment kitchen, large theater, pool table, hot tub. This home is built for entertaining, large open main floor plan. Can provide exclusive transportation on demand in either a Bentley or Hummer for $1000.00 per day. Also can provide daily maid servcie for $500.00 per day. Available August 23rd thru the 29th.
In related news: Westword is now offering personal cleaning services during the DNC for $400 a day. We'll go topless for $499. But it ain't pretty. -- Joe Tone
