$20,000

While scalpers weren’t hawking The Princess Bride tickets for three or four times their $10 box office price – as they did on Craigslist for the Hangover last week – the Film on the Rocks movie did sell out Tuesday night.

It was the second consecutive sellout for Film on the Rocks so far this summer, and portends well for the rest of the season, which will feature Raising Arizona, Speed and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, among others.

Still, a packed house means long lines through the park, at the box office and in the parking lots. And seeing a movie at Red Rocks, rather than a concert, is an odd experience since there are still college kids smoking pot and drinking wine coolers before the show and blasting Bob Marley from their car speakers (Really? For The Princess Bride?)

There were also girls twirling hula hoops. But then, maybe they’re just practicing for Widespread Panic later this month.
