Early Sunday morning in Colorado Springs, between ten and fifteen men jumped out of four cars (including two gold Cadillacs), invaded a home and stabbed the occupant, a 44-year-old man.
It's a scenario that screams "gang violence" -- and while the Colorado Springs Police Department isn't confirming that yet, officers certainly aren't dismissing the possibility.
"That's always somewhat of a suspicion when you have that many people involved at one time," says Lieutenant Pat Rigdon, a shift lieutenant for the CSPD's Gold Hill division, whose boundaries encompass the attack locale. "But we don't have anything at this point that would lead us to a particular gang or to say for sure that's what it was."
When asked about the general level of gang activity in Colorado Springs at present, Rigdon says, "It's fairly isolated. We'll go for a while and won't have any problems, and then we'll see a little rash of potentially gang-related crimes.

"Mostly, the kind of gang violence we see is gang on gang, not your average citizen being targeted. And a lot of it seems to be narcotics-related -- not so much your turf-battle-type stuff."

The only suspect descriptions given were they were hispanic and white males. The suspect vehicle descriptions include a newer gold Cadillac sedan with rims; a gold Cadillac Escalade (truck model) with rims; a dark over white Buick 2 door; and a gray Jeep Cherokee.
