We got a huge response from our post about Jessica Neely, a former Coloradan once known as porn star Angela Aspen.
Neely has now gone public with horror stories from her past, including multiple suicide attempts. She's now turned away from porn and is making a new life with help from her parents and her faith.
Many readers expressed sympathy for Neely and denounced pornography for allegedly objectifying women, while others wondered if she'd been manipulated by anti-porn crusaders.
In contrast, this commenter strove for a middle ground.
Josh Makelky writes:
I'm sure not everyone in porn is a wayward, pill-popping alcoholic. And not everyone who goes to church on Sunday is a saint. Look at the Duggar family. The latest reality show turned REALITY. Teach your girls to be strong-willed and intelligent. Teach your boys to be respectful, kind gentleman. It's not rocket science. I don't feel sorry for this girl in porn, she made choices. She also had some terrible things happen to her in life. We all walk a path. We all walk at our own pace.
