This argument prompted lots of responses — many in agreement, but some rejecting the premise.
One of the takes that prompted the most reaction, though, was the following post, which suggested that a certain kind of Coloradan tends to break the bank to maintain an aura of cool.
Here’s what he had to say.
Denver, make your New Year’s Resolution Count!
We’re $14,000 away from our End-of-Year campaign goal, with just a couple of days left! We’re ready to deliver — but we need the resources to do it right. If Westword matters to you, please contribute today to help us expand our current events coverage when it’s needed most.

Stop trying to live out your hipster lives in ” Downtown.” It’s not that cool in the first place .There are plenty of affordable places south and north of Denver by like 15 min drive or train . So put up your bowler hats and shave that beard, get a place in the burbs and let the millennials have the high prices . Time to grow up people , that fantasy of living in the city is tired.
