Whether you’re disgusted by her behavior or inspired by it, sorry for her “victims” or jealous of them, once thing is certain: Carrie McCandless won’t be winning the teacher of the year award this year. Nor will she be able to bed -- at least for the next thirty days -- any more juveniles or parolees.
The 32-year-old former Brighton Charter School teacher first made headlines when she was charged with kissing and fondling a seventeen-year-old student during a field trip (one of several problems the school has had). In June 2007, she was convicted and sentenced to 45 days in jail and forced to register as a sex offender. But last month, she was discovered by a parole officer in bed with a parolee (an adult this time) he was checking in on (that man’s case had nothing to do with hers), according to numerous reports.
Since the tryst violated the terms of McCandless’s own parole, she was sentenced to another thirty days behind bars. Call her our first Shmuck-loving Shmuck of the Week.
