Colorado legalized recreational cannabis over a decade ago, but it’s taking a while to figure out the whole social-consumption thing. Although a law allowing dispensary tasting rooms and cannabis consumption areas in certain businesses took effect in 2020, local governments must opt in to the program in order for such businesses to operate. Only a handful of towns and counties have done so, and even fewer have any businesses operating.
But you’re not totally out of luck. Between Adams County and Denver, there are several cannabis hospitality locations in metro Denver, as well as a few tour services, private event spaces and lodging providers.
Here are eleven places where you can consume cannabis in and around Denver (if you’re at least 21), not including your own home:
Tetra Lounge

Tetra Lounge has been a beacon for Denver’s cannabis scene since 2018, when it first opened as a private club allowing cannabis use. Back then, the state didn’t have licenses for cannabis hospitality, and Denver city officials were hardly fans of Tetra’s. After years of back and forth with the city, however, Tetra owner Dewayne Benjamin finally received his permit in 2024, allowing the RiNo venue to open to the masses.
Anyone 21-and-older can enter Tetra for a daily fee, with weekly and monthly passes available, too. Tetra is a BYOC establishment, with smoking, vaping, dabs and edibles allowed. Guests can purchase rolling papers, rent Puffco vapes for dabs, and buy waters and snacks at the lounge, although you’ll often see a food truck and other pop-up vendors at Tetra, as well. Follow Tetra’s Instagram page to stay updated on the lounge’s weekly and special events, including cannabis industry parties, ladies’ nights, movie nights and more.
Cirrus Social Club

Denver’s newest cannabis-friendly lounge is Cirrus Social Club. The East Colfax venue, years in the making after a reported $3 million makeover, has an upscale layout with Volcano vaporizers, high-end glass and notable dispensary brands on the menu. It’s a luxurious layout fit for an elegant evening, or just a nice meetup with your friends. Cirrus regularly holds burlesque shows and live music performances, as well.

Pure Elevations

It took twelve years for a licensed cannabis spa to open in Colorado after recreational legalization, but we’ll take it. At Pure Elevations, you can get a massage, smoke a blunt, get your hair did – or all three, if you have the time. Founder Rebecca Marroquin, a licensed massage therapist, worked for years to get Pure Elevations to the finish line, with the grand opening taking place in the fall of 2024.
The south Denver cannabis spa has massage rooms, hair and skin stations and a back patio for events, like blunt-rolling classes and Galentine’s Day. The spa also has a cannabis bar with the same products sold at dispensaries, so visitors must purchase what they consume inside. The Coffee Joint

The Coffee Joint made history as Denver’s first licensed cannabis-consumption business. The coffee shop and lounge, which opened for social pot use in 2018 under a local ordinance at the time, allows electronic vaping of flower and concentrates as well as edibles consumption, as long as you bring your own cannabis. Although you can’t smoke here, you can use your own vapes and dab rigs for the Coffee Joint’s e-nails, and the $5 entrance fee is waived if you’ve purchased products from the dispensary next door, 1136 Yuma. The Coffee Joint also hosts pot-friendly comedy shows, yoga classes, poetry jam sessions, mushroom discussions and even Shakespeare plays, so keep an eye on the lounge’s events calendar.
Colorado Cannabis Tours

Colorado Cannabis Tours mostly operates out of vans or buses licensed for cannabis use, taking riders to various activities and tours in the metro area. Simply show up at the headquarters after signing up, hop on the bus, toke up and then check out popular artistic and scenic parts of Denver as well as dispensaries, cultivations, hash factories and more. If you don’t want to be on the road, Colorado Cannabis Tours also hosts pot-friendly classes like Puff, Pass and Paint, Pipemaking 101, Cooking With Cannabis and more. This is a BYOC service, but the guide usually stops at a dispensary after departing.
The Cannabis Experience Mobile Lounge

Another licensed BYOC pot-friendly tour service and mobile lounge, the Cannabis Experience provides weekly tours around Denver dispensaries, cannabis cultivations, glass-blowing studios, street-art hot spots, miniature golf courses and popular taco joints. You can also book the Cannabis Experience for a pot-friendly shuttle to and from Denver International Airport, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and other routes within the City of Denver. Canna CabanaBus offers cannabis-friendly rides and tours around town. You can occasionally find the Canna CabanaBus parked near large public events in the city, providing adults a place to legally consume; the bus can also be booked for weddings, corporate events and birthday parties.
Dreamy Illusions Mobile Lounge

Dreamy Illusions is Denver’s newest licensed cannabis-friendly transport service and mobile lounge. Founded by Metropolitan State University of Denver alum Victoria Osler, the Dreamy Illusions bus appeared at several events in 2025 to provide a safe cannabis consumption space, and is available for booking to the airport and other pre-approved routes.
Arrowhead Manor

If you’re like most people, you just want a spot to toke up at your home wherever you might be staying. A handful of Denver area hotels will allow you to vape cannabis inside, but a quieter smoke-and-stay experience awaits at Arrowhead Manor, a mansion that serves as an event center and bed-and-breakfast. Minutes from Red Rocks Amphitheatre and about a twenty-minute drive from Denver, the plush lodge allows residents to smoke pot on its outside decks and patios (smoking inside is prohibited), and offers a customized infused dining option with Chef Roilty.
The International Church of Cannabis

Despite its name, the International Church of Cannabis only allows cannabis consumption on site during congregational gatherings or special private events. The Sunday evening ceremonies celebrate Elevationism, the practicing faith at the church, with members receiving invites every week after they sign up online. On top of allowing occasional cannabis use (BYOC), the church offers educational talks, live entertainment and potluck dinners.
Boulder Adventure Lodge

There’s lots of outdoor fun available at Boulder Adventure Lodge. A pot-friendly cabin and camping area that has a slackline park and nearby creek, Boulder Adventure Lodge is known for its Colorado-centric activities – including regular group hikes and rock-climbing sessions – and cannabis hospitality. Although there’s no smoking indoors, vaporizing is allowed, and there are designated areas outside for smoking cannabis.
