It's hard for a lot of people over the age of six to get excited for a drive around the neighborhood to check out Christmas lights. Believe it or not, some of us would rather just stay at home. But for those who have lost their holiday spirit, the Tacky Light Tour is happy to lift it up. Starting at a hosting dispensary, riders will get exclusive shopping deals before hopping on a pot-friendly party bus to ride around and see Denver's best light decorations. And did we mention a professional comedian will be joining you the whole time?

Keep reading for more information on Tacky Lights and other pot shindigs in this week's Cannabis Calendar.

Think you can tell the difference between Durban Poison and Bubble Gum Kush? Put your nostrils to the test at the Trichome Institute's Interpening Cannabis Sommelier Course on Tuesday, December 8, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m at Colorado Free University. Just like a wine-tasting course, this hands-on class will teach students how to smell the differences among cannabis strains and detect unacceptable qualities in flower. Cost is $299. Licensed industry employees and groups of five or more should inquire about discounts. 21+

The Tacky Light Comedy Tour keeps moving this week, as it stops at Mindful, Terrapin Care Station on 33rd Avenue and Denver Relief during its holiday tour of dispensary shopping sprees and mobile comedy shows. Starting at Mindful on Thursday, December 10, shoppers will check out exclusive deals at the hosting pot shop before hopping on a 4/20-friendly party bus to cruise around the Denver area with a SexPot Comedy comedian. Sam Tallent will ride along Thursday, and tours beginning at Terrapin Care Station (Friday, December 11) and Denver Relief (Saturday, December 12) will feature Ben Kronberg. Tickets are $62.50 apiece and include a catered dinner at a local art gallery and alcoholic refreshments. 21+

Casselman's Bar will host the 2015 Cannabis Business Awards on Thursday, December 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. Industry professionals, organizations and businesses — medical and recreational — will all be honored at this red-carpet event. General-admission tickets are $50, with VIP tables also available. Tickets include live entertainment, champagne and refreshments.

Green Labs is hosting its monthly budtender-appreciation night on Friday, December 11, from 7:30 p.m. to midnight. The free event is a social and networking opportunity for all levels of employees in the cannabis industry. Everyone from budtenders to dispensary owners is encouraged to attend and talk shop.

Sensi and Green Labs are hosting Impact Network: Cannabis and Patients, a monthly discussion for the novice on medical cannabis, on Saturday, December 11, from noon to 5 p.m. Marijuana professionals and consultants will be on hand to discuss medical cannabis, answer questions for concerned patients and parents, and connect them with the right resources. The discussions are open to all ages and free to attend after registering on eventbrite.
