Wouldn’t it be nice to come out the other end of a Memorial Day weekend without having another death to memorialize?
Not this year: Sunday evening at Dr. Daniel Hale Williams Park, a conversation between two men ended with one of them shooting the other to death.
According to the Denver Police Department, a shots-fired call reached officers at around 8 p.m. — and by the time they made it to the park, a male suffering from bullet wounds was beyond saving.
At this point, neither the victim nor a suspect has been named. However, police believe the shooter drove to the park in a dark-colored SUV that he used for his escape after punctuating his chat with gunfire. They also think people who fled the scene once the blasting started might have seen something that could help them in the investigation. Such folks are encouraged to call the DPD at at 720-913-2000 or 720-913-STOP (7867).
