After all that Thanksgiving feasting, are you hungry for something simpler? Maybe a sandwich? There are great sandwich joints all over town, some of which even offer a version of Thanksgiving between slices of bread.
Molly Martin just served up her list of Denver’s standout sandwiches, as well as favorite neighborhood sandwich-centric spots, old-school Italian delis and top picks for sandwiches on a budget — 26 places in all.
In their comments on the Westword Facebook post of Molly’s list, readers dish up a few more favorites, as well as an appreciation of sandwiches in general. Says Frank:
Man does not live by bread alone! All those tasty things people put between the slices add up.
Suggests Bobbi:
Great reviews and the almost-forgotten historical eateries in our ‘support local ownership’ of must-try diners and restaurants. Word of mouth seems to need a bullhorn of local advertising. My take.
Counters Timothy:
Funny that Denver thinks it’s a food town!
Offers Ken:
Glad to see Curtis Park making the list.
Agrees Laura:
Get Right’s on West 38th Avenue in Wheat Ridge is wonderful!
Adds Dan:
Jambon Beurre at Get Right’s was so good, but the crust on that sourdough is savage. I had a gum infection on the roof of my mouth and damn, that delicious sammy hurt.
Comments Tamera:
Congress Park Market is the best! Such a great addition to our little neighborhood! The BLT is deeelish.
Responds Jeff:
And, the people who run the Congress Park Market are even better than their sandwiches!
Notes David:
Any best sandwich list that doesn’t include Las Tortas is wrong…
Molly replies:
Cool, ’cause they are on there.
