The challenges facing local news organizations are very real. That's why reader support matters more than ever. If you believe independent journalism matters, make a contribution today and help us reach our summer fundraising goal of $25,000 by August 9.
Paul Piciocchi is putting into the former home of Alto, opens tonight at 1320 15th Street.
The Drink, a sports tavern, made its debut on November 20; Mix Music Lounge is set to open next week. But right now, it’s Rack & Rye, which will host private parties starting at 5 p.m. tonight and tomorrow night, then open to the public for dinner at 7 p.m. both nights.
What’s on the menu? “Updated comfort food with an adventurous global twist,” the Rack & Rye website promises. “The cuisine pays homage to foods that bring back memories of happy childhood; foods that are cheesy, warm, gooey and crispy. It is big food with big flavor.”
That translates into Spam fries, meatloaf sliders, and chicken and waffles.
After this grand-opening weekend, Rack & Rye will be serving lunch and dinner Monday-Saturday (closed Sunday), with very expansive hours: 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
