According to the FBI affidavit and indictment unsealed yesterday, twice this summer Najibullah Zazi checked into an unnamed Aurora hotel that had a kitchen, where he attempted to cook up a bomb with items he’d bought from a nearby beauty-supply house. To keep this country safe from terrorists (and other guests safe from bad cooking smells), maybe the feds should consider banning stoves in hotel rooms.

Or maybe they should just ban southeast Denver hotels altogether. After all, last summer another gang that couldn’t think straight checked into another local hotel, where the trio of meth-hoods cooked up a half-baked plot to murder Barack Obama.
