There's more movement on the 2000 block of Larimer Street, where Three Door Bistro, an American/Italian restaurant, is skedded for a mid-July opening at 2049 Larimer. The space, run by Marion Hoffman, who briefly owned Fantastic Bistro and Catering at 2740 South Wadsworth Boulevard, is named for the three wooden doors that flank the facade.
When I spoke with Hoffman over the weekend, she told me that once the restaurant opens, she'll do lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday and also offer Sunday brunch. "Our menu will be about 60 percent American and 40 percent Italian, and we're going to make all of our pastas in house," she said.
Hoffman also has plans to add a patio out back, serve afternoon tea Tuesday through
Saturday and showcase a piano bar on Friday and
Saturday nights. And she's toying with the idea of bringing in a "cigarette girl" to make the rounds --
only she'd be selling vices like gum instead of P-Funks.
We'll have to wait and see if that's an idea that goes up in a cloud of smoke.
