Havana Street in Aurora is home to several new restaurants, according to the latest word from the Havana Business Improvement District. Among them: Havana Street Station, a family restaurant serving mostly American and Mexican food in the space at 1911 South Havana Street that used to be Dumitri’s Family Restaurant.
New owner Nick Moga tells Westword he bought the restaurant in November from the previous owner, for whom he used to work. He remodeled the entire place, tackling the project in stages so the restaurant never closed. He also changed the menu. “It’s pretty far away from diner-type of food,” he says. In addition to Mexican and American fare, the restaurant serves Greek and Italian dishes. “It’s your basic neighborhood restaurant,” Moga adds. He also remodeled the attached bar and renamed it Nick’s Place. For more, check out this recent YourHub interview with Moga and his wife Amanda.
The Havana BID also announced a new Korean restaurant, Sae Jong Korean Restaurant at 2680 South Havana Street. And a second outpost of Carniceria La Consentida recently opened at 354 North Havana Street, the district reports.
