Hot chicken lovers, rejoice! This isn't the end of Music City Hot Chicken's location at 227 Broadway in Denver.
When devastated fans heard that TRVE Brewing Co., Denver's heavy metal brewery, is closing after nearly fourteen years, many also wondered what would happen to Music City Hot Chicken, which has operated inside the taproom since 2021.
Good news: Music City is staying open in the space for now. Originally, the hot chicken restaurant had planned to temporarily close after July 12, when TRVE will serve its last customers.
According to general manager Steven Skinner, however, Music City won't have to shut its doors after all — though hours will be more limited than when TRVE is open in the space. The restaurant will offer takeout, delivery and some dine-in seating through the end of July, on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
After getting the bad news that TRVE would close, Music City started talking with the landlord, in hopes that the eatery could take over the entire place and preserve the incredible community built in the TRVE space.
"We’re committed to keeping the fryer hot and the chicken hotter while we work toward our future," Skinner says. "Our team is incredibly grateful for the love and support we’ve received, and we’re doing everything we can to keep Music City Hot Chicken alive and thriving in Denver."
While nothing is finalized, Skinner says that "things are looking good" and people can expect updates soon.
"In the meantime, come through, grab a plate, and enjoy the best damn hot chicken in town," he adds. And through Saturday, you can still wash it down with some great beer.
For now, Music City Hot Chicken will be open from 3 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 227 Broadway.
