Over the past decade, many restaurants have come and gone on the 1500 block of Blake Street, which is overloaded with eateries. But the homegrown Jimmy's Urban Bar & Grill stood out from the crowd from the minute it opened, winning fans and our Best of Denver 2015 burger award. With rents rising, however, the owners of Jimmy's have decided not to renew their lease, and the restaurant will close at the end of service Sunday. It will be missed. Says Anthony:
Damn. I liked this place a lot.
Bummer! This place is fantastic! From their homemade hot sauces to the personal touch, it will all be missed.
This is what worries me — that all the great one-of-a-kind places will be squeezed out and downtown Denver will just be another big Chili's.
Have you been to Jimmy's? What's your favorite downtown restaurant?
