Red Coral Chinese Restaurant closed on South Colorado Boulevard after more than 30 years in business, 25 of those in the same address. And although the Yuan family who owned it retired, area residents looking for a new neighborhood Chinese eatery will soon be in luck. New management will be opening The Bronze Empire in the same spot — next to a Guitar Center and behind an IHOP — where Red Coral had become a standby over the years.

A sign in the front door indicates a May opening and the new owners note that they'll also provide progress updates and a social media presence (although there's no sign of that yet). "We tip our hats to the service provided by Red Coral for the past 33 years and hope to bring customers — new and old -into this location to experience the best dining Denver has to offer," the note reads. Fans and regulars of Red Coral will certainly hope that the Bronze Empire will live up to the reputation of its predecessor.
